Merge Café
Lifewise is a social innovator that aims to turn lives around. It closed down its soup kitchen when it recognised traditional ways of solving social issues were simply perpetuating dependency.
Merge café is its first social enterprise and a great example of the coming together of commercial and social objectives. A busy, vibrant place on K Road, Merge creates awareness of social issues and helps to solve them through the income it generates.
Inspiration Point created the Merge brand and the story it tells. The café space and social media are important touch points for a low budget brand and are used to stimulate engagement and visibility. The daily menu, posted on Instagram and live in the café, is more than a menu of food – a plate of goodness and daily dose of wisdom can also be found.
The value proposition for customers is compelling. In addition to eating well and feeling good about supporting a great cause, they can also ‘do good’ by paying forward a nourishing meal for someone who is hungry or homeless.
